For three years - from 2010 to 2012 - the Fremont Bodhi House was our Dhammadharini Sangha's monastic residence in the San Francisco East Bay and in-town annex to our Sonoma Coast Aranya Bodhi Hermitage. In 2016, our "permanent" Dhammadharini Monastery opened in the Sonoma Mountain area of Penngrove. Welcome to visit us there! About the old Bodhi House
The Bodhi House, former home to the Theravada Bhikkhuni Sangha and those women training in Buddhist monastic life, was a sanctuary of peaceful meditation located in the midst of the urban San Francisco East Bay in Fremont, near Lake Elizabeth and the Fremont Hub. It served as the "in the Bay" annex to our Aranya Bodhi Awakening Forest Hermitage in it's first years of development.

Our monastics generally visit Fremont about once per month, coming to teach at Wat Buddhanusorn, as well as in Oakland with Stray Cat Sangha at the Peace Center, and in the South Bay at Vipassana San Jose aka San Jose Insight.
